WHAT: FWISD Semi- annual Blood Drive

WHEN: Friday, October 17, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Front parking lot, Central Admin. Bldg., 100 N. University

SUMMARY: The Fort Worth ISD will sponsor its semi-annual Blood Drive on Friday, October 17.  The Carter BloodCare mobile collection van will be in the Central Administration front parking lot from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The FWISD Blood Drive began several years ago as a response to the needs generated by Hurricane Katrina. It has continued however as a general community goodwill project by District employees. Usually, thirty to forty FWISD employees participate.

Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments will be taken first. Interested donors may contact Jane Cumbie, 817-871-2232, jane.cumbie@fwisd.org, to schedule and appointment.

Donors are advised to have a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood. Additional information is available from Carter BloodCare at www.carterbloodcare.org.

The next FWISD sponsored Blood Drive will be in the spring.
