SUMMARY: Representatives from each Fort Worth ISD high school will have the opportunity to voice their opinions about needed school improvements during an upcoming Youth Forum. The Forum will be held at the Riley Center at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary on Friday, May 29, 2009.

These “listening sessions” will be led by a youth facilitator and an adult monitor. Students will be encouraged to honestly and respectfully present their feelings and thoughts on improvements they would like to see. The participating students have already been selected by their respective school staff.

“The Youth Forum will be a ‘safe zone’ where students can speak freely about school in a constructive way,” said Kristen Guillory, a Youth Forum committee member.

The FWISD Youth Forum is sponsored by the Department of Student Engagement and School Completion.
