Four Confirmed, 9 Probable Cases of H1N1 in Fort Worth—Sunday Update
The Tarrant County Public Health Department says, as of Sunday afternoon, there are four confirmed cases and nine probable cases of the H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) in the Fort Worth ISD. This includes one new probable case at Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center.
Those students with confirmed cases attend:
- McLean 6th Grade Center
- South Hills Elementary
- Westcliff Elementary
- McLean Middle School
Additionally, probable cases have been identified at these schools:
- Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center
- Clayton Elementary
- Nash Elementary
- Meadowbrook Elementary
- Riverside ALC
- Springdale Elementary
- Westcliff Elementary
- McLean 6th Grade Center
- Arlington Heights High School
Health authorities are investigating other cases and will release new information on a daily basis. That information will be reported daily on the Fort Worth ISD Web site – www.fwisd.org
All Fort Worth ISD campuses will remain closed until at least May 11.
The Tarrant County Public Health Department has urged parents to keep children at home, away from public gatherings, to help control spread of the disease.
“We will continue to diligently follow the recommendations of our public health authorities,” said Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Melody Johnson.
She praised the community spirit of Fort Worth in responding to this health crisis.
“Fort Worth continues to put the health and well-being of its children and families first,” Dr. Johnson said.
