FWISD REPORT CARDS DELAYED BY FLU
Fort Worth, Texas - Report cards for Fort Worth ISD students were scheduled for distribution on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. However, school cancellations have altered the schedule for preparation and distribution of students’ grades.
“If classes had been in session as normal, teachers would have been able to file student grades by last Friday,” said Dr. Pat Linares, Deputy Superintendent for School Leadership. “Now, we have to change the schedule to account for the days we have been closed and that will push back when the report cards will be sent home.”
With current plans calling for classes to resume on Monday, May 11th, teachers will have until the end of that day to make sure grades are completed and filed. This will ensure that reports cards are distributed no later than Thursday, May 14th.
“By the end of next week, parents should start looking for their students’ report cards,” said Dr. Linares.
The distribution of reports cards in May represents the end of the 5th six-week grading period. The final reports card distribution for the traditional 2008-2009 school year is scheduled for June 17, 2009.
