Fourteen Confirmed, 17 Probable Cases of H1N1 in FWISD — Thursday Update 

The Tarrant County Public Health Department says, as of Thursday, there are no new confirmed or probable cases of N1H1 (Swine) flu in the Fort Worth ISD.  The numbers remain the same as yesterday with fourteen confirmed cases and seventeen probable cases.   

This is the first day since April 26 that there have been no new cases in the Fort Worth ISD. 

Fort Worth Independent School District will reopen schools for students on Friday, May 8, following the recommendation of the Tarrant County Public Health Department. 

While health authorities have determined that the school district should be reopened, parents are urged to be vigilant.  Children who have flu symptoms and who are identified as having the flu should be kept at home for seven days. 

Confirmed cases have been identified at:

  • Charles Nash Elementary (1 case) 
  • McLean 6th Grade Center (2)       
  • McLean Middle School    (3)      
  • Meadowbrook Elementary (1)      
  • Riverside Advanced Learning Center (1)      
  • South Hills Elementary (3)      
  • Springdale Elementary  (1)      
  • Westcliff Elementary  (2)      

Probable cases have been identified at:   

  • Rosemont Middle School  (1)
  • Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center  (3)              
  • Arlington Heights High School (1)              
  • Charles Nash Elementary (3)              
  • Kirkpatrick Middle School    (1)              
  • Lily B. Clayton Elementary  (1)

  • South Hills Elementary  (2)
