FWISD RESCHEDULES IMPORTANT TESTING IN WAKE OF “FLU-CATION”
Fort Worth, Texas - Now that Fort Worth ISD classes have resumed following the disruption caused by the H1N1 Influenza virus, some important testing dates have been rescheduled. That information is provided below:
TAKS testing schedule -
- May 8-13 - Students return, resume classroom routine and possibly do some review.
· May 12 – Test Coordinator Training for Grade 5 & 8 Math Retest – attend at 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. at I.M. Terrell
- May 14 - Administer tests previously scheduled for April 30th (including Exit Science Retest, Grade 11 Science, Grade 10 Science, Grade 9 Math, Grade 8 Science, Grade 5 Science, and day 2 of dyslexia-bundles)*.
- May 15 Administer tests previously scheduled for May 1st (grade 8 Social Studies/LAT Science)*
- May 21 Administer Grade 5 and 8 Math Retest previously scheduled for May 19. This two-day extension will give some additional time for working with the students who will be taking the retest.
- May 22 Make-ups for grade 5 or 8 retesters who are absent on May 21 could be given on May 22, but all documents must be returned for shipping by 2:30 on May 22.
*NOTE: Make-ups for absent students in grades and subjects where make-ups are allowed (3-8 and 10 Reading and Math) could be given on Thursday (14th) and Friday (15th) just as they would have been during the original testing window.
Other non-TAKS testing in May -
- Stanford/Aprenda (ES/MS/HS) - May 18-26 - added May 26th to the administration window to allow maximum flexibility for campuses.
- TRC (Elementary only) – Dates are unchanged – April 27 through June 4.
- TPRI/Tejas LEE (Elementary only) – May 11-28; Sync by noon on May 29.
- Circle (MClass) – extended through May 22.
- EOC Field Testing (HS only) - May 4-29 with requested 10-day extension from TEA. The field test will only be given at the selected high school campuses and involves a limited # of students. If FWISD does not participate, TEA will not have sufficient data to evaluate these tests which will become high school graduation tests for our students in just a couple of years. We will work closely with the selected high schools to train and set-up so they can participate with the extension.
Additional information is available from your respective campus.
