Western Hills High School Senior Graduates with Perfect Attendance Record

Finishing the year with a perfect attendance record is quite an accomplishment for most students, but Fort Worth ISD’s Western Hills High School senior Christian Henninge has managed to make it to school every day – for 13 straight years. When Christian receives his diploma, he will have finished his entire school career – from kindergarten through 12th grade – without a single absence.

Christian, the son of William and Deborah Henninge, attributes his record to his health, hard work, and a desire to succeed.

“At the end of my first grade year, I attended my brother’s fifth grade promotion where there was a student being promoted with six years of perfect attendance,” he says. “At that moment, I realized I was on the right track – I hadn’t missed a single day of school my first two years, and I set a goal to do the same as that student. Little did I know I would carry this all the way through high school.”

At the Western Hills graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 6th, Christian will be recognized for his accomplishment before a crowd of graduates, teachers, administrators, staff, friends and family at TCU’s Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Christian, who plans to attend the University of North Texas in the fall and major in music or biology, is flattered by the attention.

“These days it seems attending every day of school and receiving a thorough education isn’t all that popular for students,” he says. “I feel so much appreciation for the recognition.”
