FORT WORTH ISD AIRING PSAs ON COMMERCIAL TELEVISION
Fort Worth, TX – Just because it’s summer vacation and graduations are over doesn’t mean that the Fort Worth ISD has stopped thinking about school. In fact, television and radio stations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area are helping the District spread an important message.
Project Prevail is FWISD’s comprehensive effort to increase the number of students graduating from Fort Worth high schools fully prepared for post-secondary education or gainful employment. Project Prevail uses what works, and calls upon students, parents and the larger community to support this initiative.
For that reason Fort Worth ISD has engaged local broadcast media to air District-produced public service announcements about the importance of students completing their education. The 10, 15 and 30 second PSAs call on companies, churches and civic organizations to partner with schools to keep kids in class, engaged and college-bound. They were inspired by a longer, documentary form video the District produced this spring for the America’s Promise Summit- Fort Worth.
“We have no more important job than to do all we can to prepare out students for life,” said Superintendent Melody Johnson. “School completion is a community project and we need to involve the entire community any way we can.”
