FWISD SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHES LIVE AND ON-DEMAND WEB VIDEO

Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Independent School District has successfully launched its Web-based video on-demand and live streaming features. The live streaming feature offered the Board of Education meeting of June 23rd as the initial offering.

“Our citizens now have the opportunity to attend Board meetings right from the comfort of their own homes,” said Superintendent Melody Johnson. “And we are archiving videos of District events, professional development videos and other District-created content.”

Almost 600 “hits” on the FWISD streaming media page were recorded on the first day.

To access the web stream click on the following link: http://www.fwisd.org/comm/Pages/streaming_media.aspx. Without the link visit http://www.fwisd.org or click on the DEPARTMENTS tab on the header, select Communications Department from the alphabetical directory, click on Streaming Media and follow to the event you wish to watch.

There are some minimum technological requirements in order to see the online content. If you have a PC, you must be running Windows 98 or a later Operating system with at least a 233 MHz processor Pentium II and 64 MB of RAM. Mac users need a G3 or newer with Mac OS X installed.
