FORT WORTH ISD MUSICAL GROUP WINS STATE HONORS 

Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth ISD’s Southwest High School Wind Ensemble has been named a state finalist in the Texas Music Educators Association 4A Honor Band Competition.  

The fifty-five member ensemble, under the direction of Stacey Dunn, has been ranked 5th in the field of 14 competing bands from across the state. 

We are truly grateful to have such talented directors and students in our district.  The Southwest program is one example of the many successes in the Fort Worth ISD. 

The band is assisted by directors Gaspar Garcia and Jeff DeMaagd, as well as the many parents and families of these fine students. 

“I am so very proud of these students and their directors,” said Superintendent Melody Johnson. “Together, through their hard work, they bring honor to themselves and to the District.”
