The elementary teachers will assemble at 9:00 a.m. and the secondary teachers will gather at 1:00 a.m. The theme this year will be “Happy New Year.”
Mr. Stevenson, a businessman, author and former All-American athlete is one of the most widely sought after public speakers today. Bertice Berry was originally scheduled but cancelled her appearance.
“When Robert Stevenson speaks, his listeners identify with him. This is a man who has been there, holding positions from Salesman to Chief Executive Officer,” said Nancy Ricker, Executive Director of FWISD Parent and Public Engagement. “His inspirational message will be right on target with our teachers as we begin another great year in the Fort Worth ISD.”
Convocation is designed to attract excitement and energy among all FWISD teachers and employees for the first day of the new school year. As staff arrives in each session, participating district high school bands and cheerleaders will welcome attendees with pep songs and cheers.
Each session begins with the presentation of colors, singing of the National Anthem and a message from Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Dr. Melody Johnson. Special recognition will be given to the District’s high performing schools and those with exceptional gains in achievement.
