D. McRae Elementary Hosts Event for Parents on Thursday 

Fort Worth, Texas - Fort Worth ISD’s D. McRae Elementary School will host an event for parents called “Parents Step Ahead” on Thursday, October 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the school.  D. McRae is located at 3316 Avenue N, Fort Worth. 

This event is sponsored by the FWISD and Parents Step Ahead as well as a host of businesses and will provide families information about health and fitness as well as how parents can continue their own professional development.  Free food and child care are provided as is free face painting for the children. 

Parents and their children are also encouraged to submit essays in order to win the title of Parent of the Year sponsored by Parents Step Ahead. Parents should write about the importance of being involved in your child’s life.  Students should write about why his or her parent should be selected as Parent of the Year.  Both essays should be put in an envelope with the parent’s name, address and phone number and turned in on Thursday during the event.
