FWISD BANDS EARN UIL RATINGS
Fort Worth, Texas - Fort Worth ISD’s Carter-Riverside (3A), Paschal (5A) and Southwest (4A) High Schools marching bands each earned a Division I rating at the UIL Region 7 Marching Band Contest on Saturday, October 17. The performance by these student musical groups demonstrates how the effort and commitment of students, parents, and directors can build and maintain an exemplary program.
The Southwest High School Band will advance to the UIL Area B – Conference 4A Marching Contest scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at Pennington Field. They will compete against 20+ bands in the Preliminary Competition. The top 10 bands will advance to the Finals the same day with the top 4 bands advancing to the UIL State Marching Contest scheduled for November 3 in San Antonio’s Alamodome.
The band directors for the winning schools are:
Carter-Riverside High School: Rosendo Sanchez and Greg Miller
Paschal High School: Darrin Duff, George Flores, Jr., and Rich Bahner
Southwest High School: Stacey Dunn, Gaspar Garcia, Jeff DeMaagd, and Josh Bowman
