FWISD WANTS TO EMPOWER PARENT LIAISONS
Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth ISD Parent and Public Engagement Department wants to help parent liaisons become valuable leaders to the schools they serve. To that end the department has developed a Parent Liaison Resource Center.
The Parent Liaison Resource Center is a lending library providing materials, tools, support, guidance, and training. It is designed to improve parent liaison leadership skills, increase effectiveness of home-school communications and create a welcoming environment in the school for parents.
The library is located in Room 239 of the FWISD PDC Building, 3150 Mc Cart Avenue, Fort Worth. The hours of operation are the first Friday of every month from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
The Resource Center offers three training sessions for parent liaisons:
· Session 1 - 10:00 a.m.—10:30 a.m.
· Session 2 - 12:00 p.m.—12:30 p.m.
· Session 3- 2:00 p.m.—2:30 p.m.
The library also hosts a quarterly support group for parent liaisons will be held quarterly after the 10:00 a.m. training session.
