Watch Fort Worth ISD Students Celebrate the Nash Challenge

Fort Worth, Texas - The Fort Worth Independent School District, in collaboration with Tarrant County College and the University of Texas at Arlington last week announced the Charles E. Nash Academic Challenge.
The Nash Academic Challenge will provide a full tuition scholarship--including books--for each current Charles E. Nash Elementary School student who satisfies the conditions of the Challenge.

UT Arlington spirit leaders and Maverick mascot joined the celebration, leading students in cheers. A drum line from Carter-Riverside High School provided extra excitement as guests arrived and the JROTC Eagle Battalion Color Guard presented the colors. Nash music instructor Joshua Bradford led the school’s 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in singing an upbeat song that also provided an affirmation for the Nash Challenge, “Yes, We Can Can.”
Tarrant County College Interim Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley and University of Texas at Arlington President James D. Spaniolo joined with District Superintendent Melody Johnson to make the announcement to the Nash student body.
Nash Principal Pamela Day welcomed the distinguished guests, include Board of Education Trustee Carlos Vasquez, and three Nash students introduced the speakers. Angelina Guevara introduced Superintendent Johnson; Elijah Fabila introduced Chancellor Johnson Hadley and Shania Calvin introduced President Spaniola.
