FWISD STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN VETERANS DAY EVENTS
Fort Worth, Texas – Thousands of Fort Worth ISD students will participate in the annual Fort Worth Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
The JROTC Department will field 2,000 cadets from 13 high schools and 1,600 Junior Cadet Corps students from 12 Middle Schools. Leading the Corps of Cadets will be the cadet Corps Commander Vanessa Covarrubias, as Senior at South Hills High School. All instructors and leadership will be participating with cadets.
In addition to the JROTC students, all Fort Worth ISD marching bands will continue their tradition of participating in the annual parade.
On Sunday, November 8, 2009, approximately 100 JROTC and JCC will represent FWISD at the annual Military Order of World Wars Massing of Colors Ceremony. The Massing of the Colors is a colorful, formal parade of the national and unit Regimental Colors of Tarrant County. Cadets will join active duty, Reserve services and national patriotic organizations at the First Presbyterian Church, 1000 Penn Street at 2:30 p.m.
