The District Strategic Plan will continue to monitor and measure performance and outcomes related to the District’s three strategic goals:

  • Student achievement
  • Operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Family involvement and community partnerships

Additionally, the Fort Worth ISD has identified ten top District-wide targeted priorities.  These initiatives will receive more intensive monitoring, planning and system-wide coordination and focus.  They are:

  • Closing the Achievement Gap
  • Tiered professional development
  • Curriculum Frameworks accountability
  • Phase two of secondary school redesign: programs of study
  • School principals as talent developers
  • Capital Improvement Program
  • PEAK Rewards
  • Fiscal efficiency/boundary changes
  • Internal communications
  • Student information system: Fort Worth ISD Connections

“What gets measured gets done,” said Superintendent Melody Johnson of the District’s Strategic Performance Plan.  “The key, however, is to identify what is important to measure and monitor.  Over the last few years, we have been very focused on increasing our capacity, improving tools and refining processes to enable the district to better plan, implement and monitor the critical work of the District.”
