FWISD PILOTS PARENT PORTAL
Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth ISD is inviting parents at fourteen District schools to sign up for the pilot program of the new Connects Parent Portal. These 14 campuses will pave the way for all Fort Worth ISD campuses to follow as we continue in this field testing year for our student information system. The Parent Portal is an exciting opportunity for parents to become more involved in their child’s education through the convenience of the internet.
The Parent Portal is a part of Connects, the new FWISD student information system. Through this website parents may log on and view grades for each class, as well as attendance records. Parents will be able to set alerts so Connects can email them if a student’s grades or attendance fall below criteria they set themselves. The Portal will also contain school and District announcements, as well as teacher contact information.
Introductory meetings to demonstrate the Parent Portal and assist parents in signing up for an account are being scheduled at each pilot campus. Schools participating in this initial phase are:
J.P. Elder Middle School
Washington Heights Elementary School
Carter Riverside High School
C.C. Moss Elementary School
Sunrise-McMillian Elementary School
Glencrest 6th Grade
Burton Hill Elementary School
Lily B. Clayton Elementary School
South Hills High School
McLean 6th Grade
Wedgwood Middle School
Monnig Middle School
Western Hills High School
International Newcomers Academy
Each campus will set aside a computer for parents that do not have regular access to the internet. Letters inviting parents to learn more about this helpful tool have been distributed and parents are encouraged to make arrangements to attend the learning sessions.
Other campuses will be introduced the Connects Parent Portal in coming months.
