FORT WORTH ISD BOARD OF EDUCATION PRESIDENT RESIGNS

Fort Worth, Texas - Fort Worth ISD Board of Education President Raymond G. Dickerson has resigned his position effective Thursday, December 8, 2011. In his letter to Board Secretary Dr. T.A. Sims, Mr. Dickerson cited health issues as the reason for his decision.

“While I am grateful to all who have offered their support and encouragement, I have concluded that it is imperative that I resign after consultation with my family, medical team, close friends and advisors,” Mr. Dickerson wrote.

He was first elected to the Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees in June, 2008. Originally from Arizona, he settled in Texas following graduation from Texas A&M University where he lettered in varsity baseball. Mr. Dickerson is a retired bank executive. He and his wife, Courtney, have five grown children and six grandchildren. They make their home in a Fort Worth neighborhood but also enjoy their Parker County farm.
