Both teams had to earn the right to compete for the title.  Paschal defeated the team from Polytechnic High School, while Western Hills knocked Arlington Heights High School from the competition.

Whiz Quiz is the “GE College Bowl” styled academic competition that has been a tradition in the FWISD since the 1977-78 school year. This “sport of knowledge” requires 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade and high school academic teams to accurately answer brain stretching questions faster than their opponents.

Here's a closer look at the final results:

Semi-Final Area 1

Paschal High School 625

Polytechnic High School 65

Semi-Final Area 2

Arlington Heights High School 165

In the 7th/8th grade contest on February 2, McLean Middle School defeated the team from Daggett Montessori. In 6th grade action on January 30, McLean 6th Grade also took home the championship trophy after a win over Daggett Montessori.

Whiz Quiz teams study and train for months, and must defeat several other teams just to make it to the finals.  Congratulations to all students on a wonderful season!
