FORT WORTH ISD STUDENTS SHINE IN DANCING COMPETITION
5th Grade Teams Are on the Move!
5th grade ballroom dancing teams from North Hi Mount, De Zavala, Glen Park, Cesar Chavez, Western Hills, I.M. Terrell and J.T. White elementary schools danced brilliantly this week to compete for a trip to the Dancing Classrooms North Texas finals competition. The event was held Wednesday, May 9 at Benbrook Middle School.
"The dancing was terrific, the students were magnificent, and the parents were enthralled," said Georgi Roberts, director of Health and Physical Education. "What a night!"
5th graders have been learning the merengue, foxtrot, waltz, rumba and more.
Students from North Hi Mount, De Zavala, and Western Hills elementaries will now join teams from Charles Nash Elementary and Rufino Mendoza Elementary in the Colors of the Rainbow Team Match Finals on Thursday, May 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Hall, 701 W. Nedderman Drive, Arlington, TX, 76010.
Student teams will compete against those from schools across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Come see our star students perform!
