DANCING CLASSROOMS NORTH TEXAS FINALS COMPETITION

North Hi Mount Elementary Brings Home the Gold!

5th grade ballroom dancing teams from Charles Nash, De Zavala, North Hi Mount, Rufino Mendoza and Western Hills elementary schools recently represented Fort Worth ISD in the Dancing Classrooms North Texas finals competition. 

The Colors of the Rainbow Team Match Finals was held Thursday, May 24 at the University of Texas at Arlington. It was the opportunity for students to showcase their skills doing the merengue, foxtrot, waltz, rumba and more.

"The competition and the performances were all so wonderful it was almost impossible for the more than 650 people in the audience to choose their favorites," said Georgi Roberts, director of Health and Physical Education.  "The students were simply magnificent!"

In the end however, the following winners were chosen by the judges:

Bronze - Western Hills, Rufino Mendoza and Charles Nash elementaries

Silver - De Zavala Elementary

Gold - North Hi Mount Elementary

Congratulations to the students, parents, principals and of course, the PE teachers, who work with the students to prepare them for competition.
