FWISD STUDENT ART ON T BUSES THIS SUMMER
Fort Worth, Texas – The winning artwork of ten Fort Worth ISD students will be displayed on the outside of buses of The T (Fort Worth Transportation Authority) this summer.
All 10 winners’ artwork will each be displayed on the side of one of The T’s buses through August showcasing this year’s “Expressions That Move You contest.”
This is The T’s second annual contest for Fort Worth Independent School District students who participate in the Fort Worth After School Program. Outside judges selected four winners in the K through 5 elementary school category and three winners each from middle and high school categories. One winner in each category was awarded the special Grand Prize.
Seventy-nine entries were submitted for this year’s “Expressions That Move You” contest, which called for artwork depicting a theme on what The T, public transportation, the City of Fort Worth, and/or the environment means to them. All entries were judged on theme, artistic merit and creativity.
Winners received art supplies as prizes and were recognized with their families at The T’s board meeting on May 1 and at Fort Worth After School’s annual Showcase of Stars on May 16.
