Summary: When Fort Worth ISD students return to classes this year they may be using school supplies collected through the generosity of shoppers at local Kroger stores

From now through August 19, 2012, participating Kroger stores will be holding a school supply drive for Fort Worth ISD and other area school districts.

Last year a Kroger 18-wheeler delivered about 8 pallets of supplies to the Fort Worth ISD. Those school supplies were valued at more than $7,000.

Donation packs of supplies will be available at Kroger stores for $7 each. Customers may purchase and place individual supplies in store bins or donate by using a special Stuff the Bus scan card available for $1.00 at checkout.  The funds donated will go towards additional school supplies.

At the conclusion of the donation drive Kroger employees will load the supply packs into a Kroger truck for delivery to recipient school districts. Other event sponsors include FOX4, Clear Channel Radio and Coca-Cola.

Additional details will be available at participating Kroger stores.
