FWISD NOW IN POSITION TO HIRE FROM OUTSIDE DISTRICT
Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth ISD is now hiring teachers from outside the District. As promised during 2012-2013 budget discussions, the District did not lay-off any certified teachers. Some teachers were placed in a District-wide pool to be used where their effectiveness would be most beneficial to students. That pool will soon be fully assigned.
“We have been so successful in our staffing plans that we are now in the position of needing teachers from outside our District,” said Sammy Monge, Chief of Human Capital Management. “Currently we have openings in elementary education, bilingual education and Special Education.”
Fort Worth ISD also is opening up some auxiliary positions. This means that some non-teaching employees who were laid-off are eligible to reapply for these open positions before applications are accepted from the general public.
The Fort Worth ISD is not adding additional teachers but is filling vacancies that have materialized through resignations and retirements over the summer.
More information is available through the Human Capital Management Department.
