FWISD TRUSTEE GOES OVER THE EDGE FOR EASTERN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
Fort Worth, Texas –On Saturday, September 15, 2012, Fort Worth ISD Board Trustee Tobi Jackson will rappel down the Chesapeake Plaza building. That’s 20 stories! Ms. Jackson is participating in Downtown Fort Worth Inc.’s “Over the Edge in Downtown Fort Worth” and is raising money for Eastern Hills High School’s Fire Science Academy.
“As a school board trustee, I encourage staff and students to utilize 'out of the box' thinking to solve challenges,” commented Trustee Jackson. “Our EHHS Fire Science Academy is one of three in the state and requires additional funding to provide the unique start-up equipment for our students. We will expect excellence from our students. I intend to set an example of excellence for our students by going OVER THE EDGE for EHHS, Fire Science, and our students!”
If you would like to make a donation to support Tobi and Eastern Hills, please visit her “Over the Edge” donation page at: http://www.stayclassy.org/fundraise?fcid=207120.
The Fire Science Academy is one of three Gold Seal Programs of Choice at Eastern Hills High School. As fire science majors at Eastern Hills, students learn to control different types of fires, investigate fires, rescue victims and deal with hazardous materials. Upon completion of the courses, students are eligible to take the Firefighter and/or the EMT-B certification state examination. Eastern Hills partners with Tarrant County College Northwest and the Fort Worth Fire Department for this area of study. For more information visit this page.
