West Nile Virus Message to Flash on District Scoreboards
Fort Worth, Texas - Do you know the plan for protecting yourself and your family from West Nile Virus? A new public service announcement produced by the Fort Worth ISD spells out your best defense: the Four Ds.

The four Ds are:

Dress in long sleeves and pants when you are outside

Use an insect repellant that contains DEET or other effective ingredients

Try to stay indoors at Dusk and Dawn – the times when infected mosquitoes are most active

Drain standing water in your backyard and neighborhood to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds
The District will run the 30-second announcement at football games and other events beginning Thursday, August 30. Appearing in the video are students Mia Cruz, Noah JuVette, Eric Rodriguez, Elizabeth Spears and Eddie Spears.
The announcement is part of Know The Plan, the District’s Emergency Operations Plan for keeping students, staff, faculty and families safe.
