Paschal High School Band Annual March-A-Thon
Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth ISD’s R. L. Paschal High School Panther Band is holding its 4th annual March-A-Thon Saturday, September 15th, 2012, starting at the Paschal Band hall at Forest Park Blvd and Berry Street at 9:00am. The March-A-Thon will follow its traditional 10-kilometer route through southwest Fort Worth in and around Paschal High School.
After completing the marching route, the band will perform a short concert at the Tom Thumb store at the corner of Hulen and Bellaire beginning around 12:00 p.m. There will be mini-concerts during rest breaks at Bluebonnet Circle and Foster Park.
Joining the march this year will be FWISD School Board Trustees J. R. Martinez and Dr. Ann Sutherland.
The March-A-Thon is the most anticipated fundraiser the band does each year. The money the band earns allows the band as a whole to participate in many marching competitions each fall. In addition, the funds go to defray the costs – one of the lowest in the area – each band member faces in order to compete for UIL All-District, All-Region and All-Area bands. If an individual or business would like to make a pledge, please email Kal Silverberg at marchathon@paschalpanthers.org for more information. All pledges and donations are tax deductible.
The Panther Band would like to recognize the following sponsors of their 4th Annual March-A-Thon: Tom Thumb, Kroger, Frost Bank, Texaco Tanglewood Service Center, Dennehy Architects, Children’s Dentistry of Fort Worth, Staples, Great Clips, and Teak Tree Capital.
About the Paschal Band: The band has over 190 members, including its color guard and jazz bands. It is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, making the Paschal Band one of the oldest in the state. The directors are Bryan Wright, Travis Treadwell, and Mark DeHertogh. The directors, clinicians, private lesson instructors, and technical assistants are dedicated to work together to create an environment of musical success that can then carry over to the academic world. For more information about the band, please contact Director Bryan Wright at 817-814-5071 or bryan.wright@fwisd.org.
