NORTH SIDE HIGH SCHOOL ADDITION GROUNDBREAKING
Fort Worth, Texas - Despite the threat of wind and rain a special groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on Thursday, September 13, 2012 for the North Side High School Addition and Culinary Arts Facility.
The new construction will provide the school with:
- 48,040 square feet of additional space
- 2 full production kitchens; 2 demonstration kitchens with six learning stations each; 4 culinary classrooms
- a dining hall that seats 150 with outdoor dining for 20
- 17 core classrooms and one writing lab
This project will have a construction cost of $11,297,000 and will be funded from savings generated during the 2007 Capital Improvement Program. A video animation of the project is available on the District web site.
Fort Worth ISD students have diverse options for a hands-on education at North Side High School. Its Gold Seal Programs of Choice include not only Culinary, Hospitality & Event Management but also a career path for Medical Professions. Both programs provide broad insight into their fields and valuable skills to be successful.
