  TOWN HALL MEETING FOR MORNINGSIDE COMMUNITY 

What: Town Hall meeting regarding future of Morningside community 

When: Thursday, November 15, 2012, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Where: Morningside Middle School, 2751 Mississippi, Fort Worth 

Summary: A Town Hall meeting will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 to outline an exciting five year improvement plan to the Morningside community. The event will be held at the Morningside Middle School, 2751 Mississippi and begin at 5:30 p.m. 

This meeting is the kick-off event for the Morningside Children’s Partnership, an effort to raise awareness of a grassroots campaign to engage all stakeholders in change benefiting the children of the Morningside Community. It is an endeavor that will bring together corporate, non-profit, public, and faith based organizations to positively impact the academic outcomes of the five schools that make up the Partnership. Those schools are: 

  • O.D. Wyatt High School
  • Morningside Middle School
  • Morningside Elementary
  • Briscoe Elementary
  • Carroll Peak Elementary 

Many community leaders will be in attendance as well as representatives from the Fort Worth ISD. Student groups from Briscoe, Peak and Morningside Elementary Schools, Morningside Middle School and O.D. Wyatt High School will be performing. Spanish translators will be available. 

The new program to be outlined to the community will include information about a five-year plan to improve students' educational outcomes by addressing their needs and resources in and outside of the school. For more information please contact Loretta Burns or Andrew Chambers at 817-814-0770.
