ANNUAL COWTOWN CLASSIC SET FOR TIP-OFF  

WHAT: 2012 FWISD Cowtown Classic Girls Varsity Basketball Tournament 

WHO: Sixteen Girl’s High School Basketball Teams 

WHEN: Thursday-Saturday, November 29 - December 1, 2012 

WHERE: FWISD’s Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center, 5201 C.A. Roberson, (Mapsco 92P) and Billingsley Field House, 1400 Foch St. (Mapsco 76B) 

Fort Worth, Texas – The 21st Annual FWISD Cowtown Classic High School Girls Basketball Tournament gets underway on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Fifteen of the sixteen participating teams made the state play-offs last season. 

Teams in this year’s Classic include: FW Dunbar HS, FW Western Hills HS, FW Southwest HS, Cedar Hill HS, Irving MacArthur HS, LD Bell HS, Granbury HS, Keller HS, Arlington Lamar HS, Midlothian HS, North Crowley HS, The Colony HS, Arlington Bowie HS, Timber Creek HS, Mansfield Summit HS and San Marcos HS. 

The first Cowtown Classic tournament was held in 1992. Through the years, and the efforts of the Fort Worth Girls Coaches Association and the help of hundreds of volunteers, the Cowtown Classic has become an annual feat that honors high school athletics.  

A total of eight games will be played on the opening day. There will be four games each at Fort Worth ISD’s Billingsly Field House and the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. 

Competition continues at both venues on Friday, November 30 and all day on Saturday, December 1. The finals for both the Championship and Consolation brackets will be played at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. View a complete tournament bracket 

Individual admission tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. A tournament pass is available for $12 for adults and $6 for students on Thursday. The pass price drops to $10 for adult and $5 for students on Friday.
