Fort Worth ISD Participate in 2012 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl

Fort Worth, TX – Fort Worth ISD's JROTC/Junior Cadet Corps (JCC) will play a significant role in the 2012 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. The Bowl will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at TCU’s Amon Carter Stadium

On Friday, a combined service JROTC Color Guard presented the colors during the annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl luncheon at the Omni Hotel.  See the photos on our Fort Worth ISD Facebook page.

On game day, students will distribute Fort Worth ISD materials at a District display in the activities area. Other students will welcome fans and distribute programs.

Two Fort Worth ISD JROTC drill teams-- one from Eastern Hills High School and another from J.P. Elder Middle School --will perform on the field immediately prior to the entrance of the teams.

Uniformed JROTC/JCC students will have special reserved seating in the stands.

And a special video featuring the Fort Worth ISD Gold Seal Programs of Choice will be shown on the big stadium screen during the game itself.

“Our participation in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl celebration is yet another example of how we are continuing our drive toward a Singleness of Purpose,” said Superintendent Walter Dansby. “We are part of the fabric of our greater community and it is important to use major events like this to tell our story.”

JROTC offers an outstanding elective course for young men and women that emphasizes leadership development, self-discipline and responsible patriotic citizenship. JCC offers 6th, 7th and 8th grade students lessons in professional courtesy, respect, discipline and basic leadership traits preparing them for the transition to high school.

Gold Seal Programs and Schools of Choice offer students a learning experience that engages them, supports their personal interests and opens pathways to success. It is the power to take ownership in the education experience. And it is the power that comes with being engaged in learning and excited about the future.
