EIGHTH GRADE BASKETBALL CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Summary: Students competed in the Fort Worth ISD’s Eight Grade Basketball City Championships January 31-February 2.. The first rounds of the tournament were played at various middle school sites across the district. The championship games were held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Billingsley Field House. 

YWLA won the school's first city championship with a 59-24 victory over William James.  YWLA's girls basketball coaching staff is led by eighth grade coach Jurica Honeysuckle, who was assisted by seventh grade coach Whitney Key during the tournament.

In the boys championship, Wedgwood defeated William James 61-56. Wedgwood's boys basketball coaching staff is led by eighth grade coach Robert Utsey with assistance from Johnny Bennett and Brian LeGrand.
