To the STAAR & Beyond! Sessions for Fort Worth ISD Parents

The Fort Worth ISD wants parents to understand better how the new state accountability tests will affect students’ grades and graduation plans.  The District will host a dozen information sessions from February 13 - 28 to provide parents of 8th, 9th and 10th grade students with information about the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).

These STAAR parent information sessions have already been held at Arlington Heights High School, Diamond-Hill Jarvis High School, Dunbar High School and New Lives School.

STAAR End of Course (EOC) testing will be required for graduation beginning with the class of 2015, our current 10th grade students.  It is a more rigorous assessment that focuses on readiness for success at subsequent grades and courses, and ultimately college and career.

Parents and students are encouraged to attend a STAAR information session at their home campus, but are welcome to attend at any of the high schools.

Upcoming sessions include:

Wednesday, February 13 Young Women's Leadership Academy 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, February 13 Eastern Hills High School 6:30 p.m.
