FWISD EXPERIENCING EMAIL DELAY
Fort Worth, Texas (February 20, 2013) - The Fort Worth ISD e-mail system is currently experiencing a slowdown on inbound email due to a large amount of SPAM. Some messages are being delayed for up to two hours. Outbound email does not appear to be delayed at all.
The District is experiencing an average of 10,000 messages per hour with only a small percentage of those messages being SPAM free.
People trying to send messages to District email accounts should NOT continue to resend messages because it adds to the overall volume.
“Email messages are in a que and will eventually get through the District,” said Chief Technology Officer Kyle Davie. “We are working with our provider to resolve the problem and restore service as quickly as possible.”
You can help by not clicking on a link from an unknown sender. If an email looks suspicious please forward it to SPAMadmin@fwisd.org – that includes emails which may claim to be from the Fort Worth ISD email administrator.
Thank you for your assistance. We hope to have the system restored to its full strength as soon as possible.
