FWISD SCHOOL PARTNER HELPS STUDENTS LEARN TO SAVE

WHO: Students of Washington Heights Elementary School and employees of Unity One Credit Union
WHAT: Unity One Credit Union branch opening at Washington Heights Elementary
The branch opening will include:
· Student-run operation, including student tellers
· Transaction demonstrations
· Unity One zebra mascot, Max
· Washington Heights and Unity One CU staff
WHEN: Tuesday, October 6—11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Washington Heights Elementary School, 3215 N. Houston, Mapsco 62B
SUMMARY: Students at Fort Worth ISD’s Washington Heights Elementary School will continue to save their pocket change for the 2009-10 school year at the school’s credit union branch, provided by Unity One Credit Union.
With over 400 accounts and a branch balance that has been over $20,000, the in-school branch is a constant reminder that spending money is not the only option.
Unity One Credit Union is an Adopt-A-School partner in Fort Worth ISD. There are over 270 Adopt-A-School partners matched with schools. Partners support student achievement by their sharing of business/community resources, perspectives and innovative ideas.
