Ninth grade report cards and summer school options

Summer schoolAs you know, the State has implemented a new assessment and accountability system (STAAR) that impacts your child who just finished 9th grade.

Please note that because information from the State did not arrive until Friday, June 8, ninth grade report cards are expected to be mailed on Friday, June 22, 2012. Your child’s school has provided information regarding the dates and times for STAAR tutorials, June 19 – July 5 and traditional summer school, June 19 – July 26, 2012.

Registration for STAAR tutorials and traditional summer school is Friday, June 15, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Southwest High School, 4100 Altamesa Blvd. Traditional summer school will take place at Trimble Tech High School and STAAR tutorials will be held at the student’s home campus.  If you are unsure about attendance, please contact your child’s school.

>> Review summer school options for credit retrieval.

We will do everything possible to assist if your rising 10th grader needs to enroll in STAAR tutorials or traditional summer school. Again, do not hesitate to call your school principal or counselor for additional information.  We are here to serve the educational needs of you and your child.
