FWISD HONORED FOR SUPPORT OF NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVES

Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Independent School District has been named a 2012 Freedom Award nominee by the Secretary of Defense. This recognition honors those employers who show exemplary support for their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserves.

Nominees receive a special certificate acknowledging nomination. The nomination is all the more special because it had to have been submitted by one or more of the District’s employees serving in the Guard or Reserve.

“It is indeed a prestigious honor for the Fort Worth ISD to be recognized in this way,” said Superintendent Walter Dansby. “We are cognizant that some of our employees are willing to be ready to serve their community and their country in a time of need.”

Nationwide 3,236 employers were nominated this year.
