What: 1st Annual Strokes for Spokes Golf Tournament

When: Monday, August 20, 2012, 8 a.m. shotgun start

Where: Texas Star Golf Course, 1400 Texas Star Parkway, Euless, TX

Summary: The Women’s Policy Forum of Fort Worth is sponsoring the 1st Annual Strokes for Spokes Golf Tournament to benefit students at Fort Worth ISD’s Maude I. Logan Elementary School.

The tournament will be held on Monday, August 20 at the Texas Star Golf Course in Euless. Player and sponsor participation will directly benefit students at Maude I. Logan who have perfect attendance by awarding them a new bicycle.  The remaining proceeds will go directly to the teachers at the school to assist them with obtaining much-needed resources.

In the 2010-11 school year, 65 Maude Logan ES students achieved perfect attendance. In 2011-12 there were 39 kids who achieved this goal.  One student name from each grade was randomly drawn and awarded a bicycle. Now the goal is to award ALL students with perfect attendance a bicycle.

On the first day of school, Monday, August 27, Mayor Betsy Price will announce the perfect attendance incentive to the students.
