FWISD PERMANENT EMPLOYEES RECEIVE ONE-TIME PAYMENT IN OCTOBER PAYCHECK
Fort Worth, Texas – If you are a fulltime Fort Worth ISD employee, there will be a little something extra in your paycheck this Friday (October 26.)
Back in July, the Fort Worth ISD Board of Education approved a one-time payment to all permanent employees equal to 1% of their 2011-2012 base salary.
Superintendent Walter Dansby recommended the one-time payment to permanent employees in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to children during the past year.
“We really do understand that our loyal employees are fighting through difficult times, just as the District is,” said Mr. Dansby. “This is a message to those workers that their efforts have been noticed and that we value the work they do everyday.”
The one-time payment will cost the District $5,463,309 and is being funded by a combination of General Operating Funds, the Food Service Fund and grants. Only a permanent employee’s base salary will be considered for calculating the payment. Stipends and extra duty pay will not be included in the calculation.
Fort Worth ISD was severely impacted and had to make tough decisions due to the State’s inaction to adequately fund public education during the last legislative session. These measures included program changes and eliminations, reductions in force, and no salary increases for employees.
Eligibility requirements for the 1% one-time payment are:
