Former Students Earn Fashion Awards

Fort Worth, Texas – Two spring graduates of Fort Worth ISD’s R. L. Paschal High School spent the summer earning accolades in Fashion Construction. Lucy Jimenez and Ines Puga both won gold medals in Fashion Construction at the 2012 Family Career and Community Leaders of America conference in Orlando, Florida. Puga also received a $1000 3rd place scholarship to the Art Institute.

The students competed at the state FCCLA competition in April and received first and second in the Fashion Construction event, making both eligible to compete at the national level.

The students were two of 423 delegates from Texas at the conference. Over 7,000 students from across the nation and Puerto Rico made the trip to Orlando this year.

“We are so proud of Ines and Lucy,” said Paschal’s FCCLA chapter advisor, Rhonda Partovi.  “The Fashion Construction event is skill based and these students are very talented.”

The judges said they were very impressed with former students’ work, knowledge of skill and design.
