“Success demands singleness of purpose.” This quote from the legendary Vince Lombardi introduces the Fort Worth ISD 2011-2012 Annual Report. The report, released August 17, 2012, provides a snapshot of the year while showing the many ways the District is working toward Singleness of Purpose, including:
- Gold Seal Programs of Choice
- Learning Networks
- Consistent bell schedules
In his forward, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Walter Dansby defines Singleness of Purpose as “all of our stakeholders – each with his or her own interests and talents – moving the ball down the court as a team toward the ultimate goal of student achievement.”
The report also illustrates Singleness of Purpose by spotlighting several “On Purpose” people. From Mayor Betsy Price to champion swimmer and Superintendent Scholar Julia Anderson, these individuals exemplify the kind of focus and community-wide collaboration needed to prepare our students for the 21st century workplace.
Throughout the report, beautiful photographs celebrate our students, teachers and staff. To save money and resources, we again this year kept the number of copies printed to a minimum and put the report on our website.
