 Employee Benefits

The Employee Benefits Department is responsible for providing access to voluntary core benefits for eligible employees and dependents utilizing the advantage of group rates through payroll deduction.

Premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis (prior to the calculation of federal income tax) for TRS ActiveCare Health Plans, dental plans provided through Humana Specialty Benefits and United Concordia, Flexible Spending Accounts available through Higginbotham and Associates, 403(b) and 457(b) savings and retirement programs available through Education Service Center Region 10.  Employees who select TRS ActiveCare HD-1 employee or employee and dependents or those employees who select TRS ActiveCare 1 employee only are eligible to participate in Health Savings Accounts provided by Community Trust Bank. Premiums are deducted post-tax for disability insurance provided through The Standard Insurance Company, portable term life insurance through Texas Life Insurance Company, TRS Group Long Term Care Insurance Program and term life insurance provided by MetLife.
