Jean McClung is a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of Handley High School (now Eastern Hills High School).
Mrs. McClung championed the District’s Comprehensive Truancy Intervention Program (CTIP) with city and county law enforcement and health departments. The multi-faceted program takes a preventive approach by addressing the underlying causes of truancy. It has played a crucial role in dramatically reducing the District’s truancy rate in recent years. The program is the first in Texas and now a model for the state.
Mrs. McClung was instrumental in the initiation and support of the High School for Law Enforcement at Eastern Hills High School. She led the discussion and implementation of Standards of Dress for the District. She is also proud of the work that has been done to close the gap on achievement.
Mrs. McClung has been active on Fort Worth ISD committees dealing with a wide variety of tasks and initiatives, including budget, after school programs, drug free schools, alternative education policy, technology and athletics.
Jean McClung has one daughter and two grandchildren.
