Original Project Scope

Benbrook Middle School sits on approximately 31 acres south of Westpark Elementary School. The split-level design takes full advantage of the steep sloping site and offers an impressive three-story façade.

The school is a Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) Verified facility.  One of the key components for CHPS Verified status is the geothermal water source for heating and cooling the entire facility.

The 175,600 square-foot school consists of 6 academic core spaces, fine arts, life skills/special vocational programs, P.E., media center, administration and support facilities.  The fine arts wing consists of art rooms, a band hall, choir and drama rooms.  Shared facilities include a 600-seat auditorium and competition gymnasium, a multi-purpose gymnasium and a cafeteria with a stage.  The site also includes parking for 200 cars, a large bus drop-off area, and a hard surface play area with a 4-lane track and playing field.
