Original Project Scope

Jean McClung Middle School sits on approximately 12 acres at the intersection of Church, Haynie, and Craig Streets, and Forest Avenue.  It is the same location as the former Handley High School, which was built in 1922.

In building the new school, Fort Worth ISD worked with the City of Fort Worth to reflect the Historic Handley Urban Village mixed-use development.

The 162,000 square-foot middle school was designed for 910 students in grades six through eight.  It has 26 classrooms plus art, science, music, drama, and life skills, career, and computer labs, two gymnasiums, a weight/fitness area, and an outdoor athletic field.
