AMP Students Prepare for Next School Year
Throughout the summer, incoming Fort Worth ISD Advanced Media Program students participated in AMP Camp to prepare them for the 2009-10 school year.
This is the first year students from Southwest and Polytechnic high schools selected for AMP met over the summer. Nearly 20 students attended each of the AMP Camp sessions. AMP Camp allowed students to become comfortable with their new surroundings at the Professional Development Center while boosting their skills in radio and television production.
During the camp, students focused on reporting, directing, writing, editing and operating the equipment. While at AMP CAMP, media technology students partnered with exchange students from Mexico, Germany and Swaziland that were visiting Fort Worth through the Sister Cities International Leadership Academy.
The final AMP Camp was Thursday, August 6 at the Professional Development Center. During this session, the students focused on their videography skills and practiced running through shows.
AMP Cafe will be broadcast on Charter Channel 30 and ATT U-verse channel 99 throughout the school year.
