(Beef was on the menu through January, 2008. Because of the beef recall, beef was taken off the menu.)
CNS also served approximately 790,310 snacks in the After School Programs. There were 100 schools in the district that had these programs - 75 Elementary Schools, 10 High Schools, and 15 Middle Schools.
Special Items
FWISD CNS prepares menu fruit cobblers and crisps and, for special occasions, cake or cupcakes but cake servings are restricted to 3 0z.
Ice Cream is available but also size restricted.
Secondary schools prepare pies and cakes for ala carte sales – same size restrictions.
All commodity orders are placed through the Central Office.
Frozen, dry grocery and cleaning supply deliveries from the central warehouse are done weekly.
Bread, produce, snack items are delivered weekly.
Milk and fruit juice is delivered daily from milk companies. Managers make these orders directly to the delivery person.
