Promethean ActivBoards
Fort Worth ISD is home to the largest Promethean ActivBoard roll-out in the nation. The boards are installed at each campus identified by the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Installation began in August 2008 and was completed in December 2009.
What is the Promethean ActivInspire Classroom? The learning modes of students are evolving each day, and Fort Worth ISD is proactively changing to reach the students through the District initiative of Promethean Active Classrooms. These classrooms will fuse multi-media with the classroom curriculum to meet the needs of the dynamic educational environment.
What can Promethean ActivBoards do? An interactive whiteboard or IWB is a large interactive display that combines the simplicity of a whiteboard, power of a computer and projection capabilities. Promethean interactive whiteboards engage students with vivid images, video and audio. In the ActivClassroom, everyone wants to come to the board, and students can contribute using the "intelligent pen." The ActivBoard enables anything that can be seen or done on a computer screen to be projected onto an interactive whiteboard, bringing every classroom to life.
