Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) lays the foundation for rewarding careers by emphasizing technical skills, building workplace competencies, reinforcing academic concepts, and providing leadership development opportunities. CTE teaches both citizenship and life skills. It encourages students to practice critical and creative thinking and allows them to participate in career exploration that helps them develop an academic plan to prepare for continued education at the postsecondary level. CTE students also learn skills necessary for successful entry into the workplace.
The vision of the Career and Technical Education Department (CTE) is to empower students with the academic, professional, and technical skills necessary to meet the challenges of the 21st Century global society.
